Volunteer Coordination

Along the way, I also coordinated with other student volunteers, generally as a liaison for Jennifer. This included scheduling fittings, such as the Nashona Fitting with Xavier and following up with him on model looks, order, and other styling details like accessories, hair, and makeup. I also scheduled  the Sloane Legrand model fitting, for which we determined that Thursday evening on the 17th of January would work best for all of our schedules. I figured the best location would be close to campus, so I reserved a meeting room in the library for us. Another fitting that was scheduled (and rescheduled twice) was for Banana Republic at SouthPark. Before the second rescheduling, I would have been able to make it, but I had to work the day it was scheduled. I emailed Alexis as she was the men's stylist/assistant and met with her after class to make sure she was all set to be there and ready for the necessary details. From the way the runway show went, each of these three stylist/assistants were perfect for the designers that they worked with and really went above and beyond with their work.

Jennifer also contacted me to create a contact list spreadsheet of all of the student volunteers. I emailed all of the provided email addresses from the sign-up sheet that was passed around during class the day of Jennifer's visit. I also found their JWU emails via the directory in outlook/ULearn to ensure delivery. Jennifer asked for the following pieces of information: name, position, best contact email, and phone number.

Thankfully, I received responses from all but Karen in time for Jennifer's deadline of COB Monday. I emailed Jennifer the contact list in the morning on Monday and received an email from Karen late on Tuesday with her information. I updated the list and re-emailed it to Jennifer. Karen eventually dropped out of the show the day before when I emailed all of the volunteers to make sure they confirmed receipt of the day-of-show details.
